HISTORY

FROM 1915…

Our family has been making traditional sausages for over 100 years in Baños de Río Tobía, a small village focused on the artisan production of traditional Rioja chorizo sausages.

We are in La Rioja, a land known throughout the world for the quality of its wines, but where many other consumer products also stand out. Especially the vegetables and traditional sausages derived from pork, which are part of the culture of this region.

At Embutidos Ortiz, we want to transmit all this culture and tradition to the flavour of our products, many of which (chorizo, salchichón, chistorra) still maintain the natural recipe used by our great-grandfather Pedro, our grandfather Faustino and our father Domingo.

Our mission is to continue with the same values they passed on to us: professionalism, simplicity and good workmanship.

Embutidos Ortiz was one of the first small companies in La Rioja to obtain permits to export Riojan sausages to countries such as Japan, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and New Zealand. Today we are present in more than 25 countries all over the world.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS

At Embutidos Ortiz we use the best raw materials, which allows our sausages to stand out for their traditional flavour.

All our products are Gluten Free. Our Más Natural range is allergen-free and we also use natural ingredients in our 100% Natural range, which is free of allergens and additives.

The chorizo, which is our main speciality, does not contain any artificial colouring. Its intense red colour is provided directly by La Vera paprika, the best in Spain.

OUR RANGE IS DIVIDED TO:

  • CURED: Traditional sausage that is bought whole. Ideal as an aperitif and for children’s sandwiches.
  • SLICED: The same product as the cured sausage, but presented sliced in a special pack that maintains its freshness and flavour. It is the easiest way to try Ortiz products.
  • BARBECUE: The star product of Embutidos Ortiz today. We have been making it for more than 25 years and it is the ideal product to enjoy with friends. Very easy to prepare.
